eight months old

Whitney turns eight months old today!

• Enjoys three meals a day and 3-4 bottles. She has not met a food she doesn't like!
• Started on some finger foods - mainly broken up puffs (it is amazing how many pieces they can be broken into) and banana. Recenly improving on the food making it from her hands actually into her mouth.
• Loves the sippy cup. Even though she isn't getting much water out of it, it sure is fun to chew on and practice!
• Lots of babbling. Most popular is "da da da"
• Two bottom teeth. She seems to be teething, but no sign of other teeth, yet.
• Started at her new daycare and is adjusting (all of us). She is meeting new friends, playing, learning and taking good naps. Got her first real cold a week after starting and realized that nose aspirators work wonders!
• Loves to grab her feet.
• Loves to tap the shoulder of the person holding her. Is so proud of herself when she realizes she is tapping and clapping.
• Very content sitting and playing. She is full of smiles but also has a very thoughtful and serious side that "takes it all in".
• Reaches over the side of her highchair to pet Hubert (or feed him).
• Has a new favorite blankie (being held in the picture above).
• Her eight month photo session was a little traumatic because she poked herself in her eye with the "eight months old" sign before I snapped the first picture of her when on the chair. She had her morning bottle and all was better, but that didn't help the red face in most of the pics!

For some reason, I love the back of her head, so I had to take a picture to remember it!
